Student Opportunities Festival
Back in March 2020 we were sitting in the office at Organised Fun HQ worrying about having to cancel the party for the National Societies & Volunteering Awards. Lockdown was about to happen, events across the Student Movement were being cancelled and postponed, including the conferences and awards for the SPA, SRA, NaSTA, NaSFA & SVN.
We thought it would be amazing to do something together so that the student volunteers, part-time officers and sabbatical officers finishing their year in office have a fun thing at the end of their year. So that incoming officers and new student leaders would have something exciting to get them motivated from week one.
But. These organisations don’t work together. Will they even want to do it?
We all met and worked out a big idea. That big idea is the Student Opportunities Festival. A collaborative, free, week-long event for student volunteers, leaders, officers and staff.
It’s been a great, positive experience working with the other groups. Everyone has worked so hard and we’re about to embark on the Festival. We hope you enjoy it!
As for the future? We’re all positive about working together in the future but right now we don’t know what’s next. We’ll take a breather after the Festival and let you know...!
