Welcome to Opps Club.

Student opportunities officers are special! The ‘leaders of leaders’, their role can be a little different to other sabbatical officers. At Organised Fun we specialise in student opportunities and we know what opps sabbs want and need over their year in office.

Opps Club is a support package for any Sabbatical Officer under the Student Opportunities umbrella, we welcome all Sabbs with an interest or remit in societies, sport, media, fundraising or volunteering.

We’ll help you to confidently navigate the unknowns, connect with officers on a similar journey and provide specialist advice.

The programme consists of 10 sessions, spaced across the year. Kicking off in August 2021 and wrapping up in May 2022.

Each Opps Club session covers 4 areas:

  1. Student opportunities skills & knowledge development

  2. Group problem solving

  3. Personal development

  4. Sector issues & current affairs

There’s a mix of content from our expert student opportunities consultants but we leave space in each session for officers to bring topics to the table. Together we group problem solve and keep up to date with current issues.

Each officer will have access to an online space for networking, peer to peer learning and support from the Organised Fun team outside of sessions.

Who is Opps Club for?

We’ve designed Opps Club to specifically support sabbatical officers working in higher education students’ unions.

Student opportunities covers an array of activity and subject. It’s typically classified as sports, societies, student media, fundraising and volunteering, but can also cover student engagement, entrepreneurship, development.

Opps Club is perfect for general ‘Opportunities’, ‘Activities’, ‘Engagement’ Officers, but equally useful for those with a more specific remit, like societies, sport, volunteering. Officers with different portfolios (EG. departmental/subject based) are also welcome if their interests and manifesto are predominantly student opportunities focused.

The Opps Club space is reserved for elected leaders of SUs and isn’t for SU staff. We know how important reserved spaces are for officers, and we tailor the sessions to them. If you have ideas for how we can support SU staff, please email us.
