Winner: MD Mominul Hamid - Northumbria University

MD is a student rep for law, first ever elected asylum seeker for NUS conference delegate, STAR volunteer and a community activist. He campaigns on access to HE for asylum seekers including pressuring the home office on human rights grounds. Through his campaign, Newcastle and Northumbria universities have announced multiple scholarships for asylum seekers.

Blessing Bello - Bournemouth University

Alongside studying for her BSc in Adult Nursing throughout the pandemic, Blessing has continued working as a nurse at Bournemouth hospital and volunteers for Citizens Advice BCP regularly. Every week she volunteers at Citizens Advice on her day off from nursing and has advised over 144 clients.

Bhavandeep Bains - Derby College Students' Union

As a new student, Bhavandeep created the Student Mental Health Society at the College, now an active society. They are also the Welfare Office, part of multiple committees and have worked with the college on mental health resources for students.
